Telford League

As confirmed before the Christmas break, Madeley Leisure Centre is now closed and we are relocating to the new facilities at Abraham Darby. There is a lot of information in this letter, please take the time to read it thoroughly and pass it on to your team. If you have any questions please e-mail back.

The committee was able to get a look at the court earlier this week; thanks to Dawn & Matt for arranging our "sneak preview", also attended by Sarah, Julie & Esther.
We anticipate this being the home of TNL for at least the next 2 years - it's a lovely new facility and we are lucky to have our league time accommodated. It has great lighting, a sprung wooden floor and is properly air conditioned, so no more opening fire doors after sweaty footballers!
As it is brand spanking new, this means that we need some additional rules & will need Captains' help in implementing them.

Location
Abraham Darby is located on Ironbridge Road, just along from the Lees Farm Roundabout at the top of the hill down into Ironbridge.
There are a number of entrances on Ironbridge Road, but the one you want is located opposite Woodside Avenue, immediately before the pelican crossing (going down the hill). Don't worry if it looks like you are entering a building site - there are still works ongoing. Turn left into the Leisure Centre car park (outside the big windows of the swimming pool). The parking is nicer than Madeley and will improve further when all works are completed.
If you approach Madeley from the north or east of Telford please allow an extra 5 minutes to your journey.

Getting inside!
Face the swimming pool windows - to the right of the building you will see a temporary long white ramp - follow this up to the front door & reception area
It may take a couple of minutes longer to get inside to the hall than at Madeley.
The reception desk is straight ahead, toilets are on the left.
The door to the sports hall is in the far right hand corner - it may be locked, in which case please ask at reception to be let through.
The stairs from the reception area take you to the upstairs viewing gallery if you want a birds-eye view of play!
The full suite of changing rooms is not yet ready for use (it won't be long!), please ask at reception if you need to change or use a locker (£1 coin refunded).

The sports hall
On leaving the reception area, follow the ramp down. The entrance to the hall is at the bottom of the ramp, on the right.
(The stairs outside the hall also go up to the viewing gallery.)
The duty desk will be located immediately inside the hall - please complete your team sheets & pay fees before play as usual.

There is room in the hall to accommodate some courtside viewing.
You must remain behind the black lines  down the long sides of the court only - not behind the goals.
Please note the following;
- strictly no fizzy drinks in the hall
- strictly no food to be consumed in the hall
- STRICTLY no chewing gum!
- only "sports cap" type bottles will be allowed - no screw top bottles, drinks pouches etc.
This applies to both players and any spectators.
Please take your bottles away with you at the end of your match.

The court is marked with red lines. We have been assured that it has been marked out to Sport England specifications, however it is a slightly different size from Madeley.
This is brought to your attention in advance, to avoid any queries during play.

Scheduling / Timing of matches
We have been allocated a slightly later time, so matches will commence at 7.30, 8.15, 9.00 and 9.45, finishing at 10.30pm (updated fixtures attached).
This shift makes for a late finish, so timings will be adhered to and matches will start promptly.
To avoid any changeover delays, please ensure that all players are courtside, ready for nails check, 5 mins before your start time.
If the team is not ready, the match will start without you! (as per the League Constitution & Code of Conduct).

As per the text from Julie on Thursday afternoon, can you please either e-mail or text back to confirm receipt of this information - thank you.

Members of the Committee will be present throughout the evening for the first two weeks to help answer any queries as we get used to our new surroundings.
We look forward to continuing the good competition of this year's league - see you on Monday!

Kind regards
TNL Committee
